Lucky’s in ‘congenial’ talks in case of trademark infringement

Lucky’s Market, a specialty store based in Boulder, Colorado told Supermarket News (SN) that it was in “congenial talks” with Albertsons LLC to resolve a trademark infringement case over use of the Lucky name and logo. A lawsuit was filed against Lucky’s Market by Albertsons and Save Mart, desiring to prevent the retailer from using the name owing to potential for consumer confusion with the Lucky Supermarkets name owned by Albertsons and licenced to Save Mart, which runs stores under that banner in both Nevada and California. ‘Budweiser’ trademark in Portugal acquired by Czech brewer

‘Le Vian’ Corporate Trademark Renewed in India

The India’s Office of The Trade Marks Registry on February 27, 2014, has reapproved the trademark ”Le Vian” for diamond brand Le Vian Corporation of New York. The serial number under which the trademark is reapproved is 2324512, it comes under Class 14 of the trademark classification. Four-Year Effort by Dish to Trademark ‘TV Everywhere’ abandoned

The long fight by Dish Network to possess the term “TV Everywhere” ultimately did not reach anywhere. The satcaster has silently abandoned its battle with Time Warner Inc., DirecTV, Comcast and other cable operators in trying to secure trademark protection on the term. The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office was notified by Dish last week that it was withdrawing the 4-year-old application for “TV Everywhere,” which has been used as a generic buzzword to refer to authenticated pay-TV services.
