Bayside Loses Its Trademark Bird Logo To Mexican Company
Bayside have disclosed in a video today that they cannot use their famed trademark bird logo any longer because of a trademark infringement claim made by a Mexican telecommunications company. The iconic bird logo has been used by them since the beginning of their band, and it shows up on almost all their merchandise. ED seizes assets for SAIL trademark infringement
The Enforcement Directorate has confiscated assets worth Rs 7 crore from two firms located in Chhattisgarh for alleged infringement on the brand of public sector SAIL. This is the first time that the charges of money laundering being charged in India for encroachment of the Trade Marks Act. Two firms based in Raipur, Ms Alankar Alloys Pvt Ltd and Ms Pankaj Ispat Ltd, have been charged for “illegally manufacturing” SAIL brand TMT bars in their factories, and the agency has confiscated two office buildings, five flats, one plot and two luxury cars, an Audi and a BMW from them. ‘London Drugs’, a retail chain shop in the western part of Canada has lost its effort to block a clothing company from using the word “London” in the name of its menswear line. Colorado brewery’s effort to trademark ‘nitro’ challenged by Beer industry giants
A Colorado-based brewery’s efforts to trademark the word “nitro” has been dealt with objections from the makers of Bud, Guinness and Samuel Adams, reports Newser. Left Hand Brewing in Longmont, Colorado, is trying to acquire the trademark stamp on the word “nitro” –– short for nitrogen, which the company uses to bottle its beer rather than the more common carbon dioxide. “The Dark Knight Rises,” is the final part of the Batman movie produced by Warner Bros. After release of the movie a computer company Fortres Grand filed suit against Warner Bros. for allegedly infringing Fortres Grand’s trademark for a security software called “Clean Slate.” Fortres Grand is a software manufacturing company that sells software, including “Clean Slate,” that protects and erasing all information of a previous user’s activity so that each new user of the computer begins with a “clean slate.” The disputed trademark appeared in the movie as a software referred to as “Clean Slate” which would help a character in the film erase her criminal history from all computer database in the world. This fictional software was also referenced four times in the movie. Trademark infringement case filed agaist MyPOSGeeks.com
A lawsuit was filed by POS Geeks LLC on March 17 in the Houston Division of the U.S. Court for the Southern District of Texas against CS Merchant Services LLC for alleged trademark infringement. POS Geeks LLC is charging CS Merchant Services LLC of doing business with the name MyPOSGeeks.com.
