Kardashian family fight to conceal lucrative business deals in trademark lawsuit
The Kardashian family have made millions through various lucrative endorsement deals, but they are not willing to share the amount with anybody. In fact, the family has asked a judge in their ongoing trademark lawsuit to seal court documents pertaining to how they fabricate business deals.
Sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe and now involved in a lawsuit over their make-up line Khroma. The suit against the sisters is filed by a company based in Florida named ‘Kroma Makeup’ started by Lee Tillett in 2004.
According to reports from RadarOnline.com, the Kardashians filed a documents in the court on March 26 requesting the court to seal documents and information related the case, such as the licensing practices of the Kardashians and what they consider when licensing their intellectual property. They told the court that such information is very valuable and should be kept confidential, which would otherwise be used by their licensors and competitors for their own benefits. The judge consented with the Kardashians and ordered that the filed documents be kept under seal.
Tillett had earlier accused Boldface of infringing on the trademark of her make-up product name ‘Kroma’ when it released a product named ‘Khroma’ featuring the reality stars. Boldface has, however, renamed the product to ‘Kardashian Beauty’ after the case was registered. The Kardashians recently filed documents requesting the judge to exempt them from the lawsuit claiming that they were not engaged in running Boldface. The lawsuit was seeking compensation for $10million.
