When registering a trademark I must specify the classes, what are the classes and how do I know in which classes to register?
At the time when you request a Trademark Comprehensive Study, you will be advocated to describe the products/services that you will be using in connection with your trademark. International Classification of Nice has been adopted by a many countries around the world. This system classifies all the different products and services into 45 classes (i.e., 34 for products, 11 for services) allowing you to specify precise and clear classes covering your trademark.
The protection which is offered to a registered trademark applies only to the classes specified at the time of filing the application, therefore two identical trademarks may coexist in distinct classes.
